ITALIAN FOOD THAT WON’T BURN A HOLE IN YOUR POCKET

A couple of weeks back noticed this little restaurant while crossing rajput sabha bhavan and wondered what the place is like. So last Saturday we decided to check out the place. Mamma Mia is located just opp Rajput Sabha bhavan and just a few mtrs from Rajmandir.

I was pleasantly surprised by the small yet elegant set-up.

The menu is elaborate and offers pastas, Pizzas, Risottos, soups, salads and a lot of seafood dishes. What I liked about the food is that it is not cheesy. Most of the local Italian places i have been to serves food where the primary ingredient is cheese. With food at Mamma mia, you will taste texture, herbs, cheese as well as savour the ingredients. Its all nicely balanced.

The wait staff told me that the chef is Indian but was in Italy for decades and is now running the restaurant here.

We had ordered a Ravioli in meat sauce, A tagliatelle, A grilled fish and a pizza. Loved the Fish and the ravioli. The tagliatelle was OK and the pizza was fine but the fish really stood out.

TAGLIATELLE

The bill was for 1900 INR approx which for so much food is decent. So, If you are looking for Italian without paying a bomb, this place is worth a try.
